Hooves with H.E.A.R.T.
Horse Education and Riding Therapy
Hooves with H.E.A.R.T.'s mission is to provide support and hope to individuals with special needs through equine-assisted activities and riding therapies.
Our instructors and volunteers work tirelessly for those we are privileged to serve. Hooves with H.E.A.R.T strives to improve physical and mental disabilities, cognitive and behavioral issues, and social interaction while promoting the self-confidence to those with special needs. We assist children with Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special needs. We believe special needs is special to each individual. Our lessons are designed to build core strength, balance, posture, gross and fine motor skills and develop cognitive benefits. Our program is one of the few equine-assisted activities and riding centers who provide ground work activities to those with special needs such as grooming and leading. Our volunteer program welcomes those with a heart for individuals with special needs. When we give to others we build stronger communities and find a personal sense of joy and happiness.
What is Equine-Assisted Activities and Riding Therapy?
Numerous studies document the remarkable benefits of therapeutic riding and equine-assisted activities. Horseback riding not only develops muscle strength but also teaches discipline, self control and patience. Ground work and bonding with animals instills empathy, compassion and dedication.
